date:2022-07-13

Recently, the launch of the "Michelin Logistics Control Tower" project of Michelin China and GREA Technology was successfully held at the Shanghai headquarters of GREA Technology! Executives, business representatives, project team members, etc. of both sides attended the meeting.

As a global leader in the tire industry, Michelin is committed to improving the sustainable mobility of human beings and goods. Headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, the group has 123,600 employees in 170 countries. Its 71 factories will produce 170 million tires in 2020.

In 1989, Michelin established the first representative office in mainland China in Beijing. In the spirit of a hundred years of innovation, Michelin brought advanced technology and high-quality products to China. At the end of 1995, Michelin Shenyang Tire Co., Ltd. was established. In 2001, Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai. At present, Michelin has nearly 7,000 employees and three factories in China, with a sales network all over the country.

Michelin China launched a new business model, Route To Market (RTM), in 2018, which aims to build strong retail capacity by obtaining demand directly from retailers and transforming wholesalers into agents. With the launch of e-commerce platforms and JD.com business, the number of customers, transportation itineraries, logistics network complexity and customer service goals have increased significantly.

Therefore, Michelin chose to work with GREA to establish a logistics center platform with the required technology, organization and process to obtain and use logistics data. Achieve customer experience and internal collaboration efficiency by providing E2E visibility; improve loading rate and reduce transportation costs and carbon dioxide emissions through scheduling planning; visualize products through standard warehouse management systems and processes to reduce the risk of inventory aging at the DC level; at the same time, improve the on-time arrival rate, improve the supply chain service level at the DC level, and finally create an exclusive "logistics control tower" for Michelin China.

As one of the world’s top 500 enterprises, Michelin continues to advocate the corporate mission of "leading progress". GREA will work with Michelin China to better achieve the group’s mission, and looks forward to the launch of the "logistics control tower" project as soon as possible and be a complete success!
